چکیده

Mutation breeding is the defined approach used for crop production and has played a key role in creation of several varieties. The present research was carried out to induce mutants kodo millet variety CO 3 using physical mutagen (gamma rays) chemical (Ethyl Methane Sulphonate) creating novelty. Seeds were treated with five doses gamma-rays viz., 100 Gy, 200 300 400 500 Gy at BARC, Kalpakam three concentrations EMS 24.15 mM, 32.20 mM 40.25 mM. In laboratory test, root shoot lengths seedlings decreased an increase dose gamma rays EMS. field study, germination percentage survival rate irradiation M2 generation, types chlorophyll mutations albino, xantha, striata, chlorina albomaculata observed. Xantha observed all treatments, whereas, striata only Gy. Based on biological damages plants, mutagenic effectiveness efficiency estimated. Both reduced irradiation. Regarding height reduction lethality, treatment concentration recorded maximum efficiency. found be higher irradiated EMS, concentration. Gray highly effective inducing mutation millet.

In vivo effect of whole grain flour of finger millet (Eleusine coracana) and kodo millet (Paspalum scrobiculatum) on rat dermal wound healing.

Influence of finger millet and kodo millet on rat dermal wound healing was assessed by making a 4 cm2 (2 x 2 cm) excision wound on the shaven back of rats under ether anesthesia. Finger millet or kodo millet flour (300 mg) as aqueous paste was applied topically once daily for 16 days. The granulation tissue formed on day 4, 8 and 12 was used to estimate some biochemical parameters like protein,...

Studies on mutagenic effectiveness and efficiency of finger millet [Eleucina coracana (L.) Gaertn] in M1 generation and effect of gamma rays on its quantitative traits during M2 generation

Among the major food grains, finger millet [Eleucina coracana (L.) Gaertn] is one of the most nutritious crops. It is an important food crop in South Asia and Africa. The grain of finger millet has fine aroma when cooked or roasted and it is known to have many healthy promising qualities. It is a rich source of calcium and has good amount of magnesium, phosphorus and iron. Finger millet has a f...

postnatal studies of bats (pipistrellus kuhlii and miniopterus schreibersii) & histomorphology and histochemistry studies of organs and diseases of (neurergus microspilotus and n. kaiseri)

1. to determine whether difference in birth body mass influenced growth performance in pipistrellus kuhlii we studied a total of 12 captive-born neonates. bats were assigned to two body mass groups: light birth body mass (lbw: 0.89 ± 0.05, n=8) and heavy birth body mass (hbw: 1.35 ± 0.08, n=4). heavier body mass at birth was associated with rapid postnatal growth (body mass and forearm length) ...
